Adam Thompson, 1359 - 1458
1359 - 1458 is the first book published by New York-based artist Adam Thompson. A block of 100 drawings were randomly selected for the book from Adam's ongoing project, The Drawing Archive. The project currently numbers nearly 2,000 drawings, all done in graphite on 11 x 8 1/2 inch cardstock. The austere, quasi-minimalist qualities of the drawings, and their endless seriality, play against the idiosyncratic, almost goofy content of the work, creating a deadpan assortment of unconnected jokes, visual puns, and puzzling abstractions. The Drawing Archive can be viewed online at: http://www.thedrawingarchive.com.
1359 - 1458 measures 7 x 9.25 inches, contains 200 pages, and retails for $18.
